About Rock Street Corgis

Rock Street Corgis started with my first girl that I brought home on January 3rd, 2006. Her name was Molly and she was the best. Very typical female Corgi, big on attitude, smart as a whip, with a great work ethic. We competed in rally and I swear she could read the signs and would do the command before I gave it to her.

Molly opened so many doors for me including confirmation. When I was a teenager I read a book called “The Shy One’s” where a girl ended up competing in confirmation. This along with my introduction to dog shows when my parents took me to a show to look at dogs and pick a breed fueled my interest in having a show dog.

I did show Molly at the 50th Anniversary show for Golden Gate Pembroke Welsh and we placed 4th in the First Annual Altered Competition. I cherish the beautiful plate Molly won for us.

Molly helped open the doors and I got Cambridge (Ch Verilo Cambridge) from my friend Debbie so I could see what life was like with a male and a show dog. Cambridge was the opposite of Molly. Where she had drive he had the attitude of just we really do this mom? There were exceptions, walks and anything having to do with food.  I tried so many sports with him but we finally found his calling with scent work. He’s like I can use my nose and get fed, game on. My only regret was we didn’t start scent work when he was younger.

My third Pembroke is GCh Brnayr Oktoberfest aka Chip aka how many more sports can we try and titles we can earn. Chip came into our lives after Cambridge was diagnosed with cancer (Spindle Cell Sarcoma) and had it removed from his side. It was cancerous and the vet did not get clean margins. We were told without treatment his cancer would return. So we brought Chip into our lives so he could learn from Cambridge. Chip inherited Cambridge’s lazy gene but with a lot more drive and willingness to take on any challenge we throw at him.

My current girl is Cammie, GCHB Curig Daydream Believer FCAT CGC TKN. She came to me from Barbara and Juliana du Pree (www.curigcorgis.com) who are based in Canada and have been breeding and showing dogs for almost as long as I have been alive. Cammie is my foundation bitch and whom I’m planning on growing Rock Street Corgis with. Cammie is a pistol when she’s not in the show ring. She loves people, loves her walks and needs a job. Her favorite “job” is chasing tennis balls in the backyard. In the show ring she transforms from a goofball to a stunning Princess who loves to show.
